Digable Planets Saint Paul Concert reviews
Clinton is amazing, but the sound was terrible!
Last May, my boyfriend and I attended a Digable Planets show and it was amazing. Despite having been to Lollapalooza in Chicago the previous year, their show in May remains my favorite. However, this year the sound guy seemed deaf as it was so loud that my eardrums were blown during the first song, making it impossible to hear the rest of the show. We had arrived at the ballroom over an hour early to secure a spot in the front row, but the other attendees made it unbearable. Two people pushed their way to the front during the second song, trying to get me to move and behaving ridiculously until we relocated. The man on my left had a guitar and nearly hit me in the face multiple times, elbowed me, sweated on me, and stomped on my feet. The girl on the other side kept bumping into me with her backside and flipping her hair into my eyes. Although there were some "undesirables" at the show last year, it was not as bad as this time. Despite the unpleasant experience, I still recommend attending a Digable Planets show and hope for better sound quality next time. Garry Shider's absence was deeply felt, and Cosmic Slop brought me to tears. I recommend a Digable Planets show to anyone.
